Hunnibell Racing > 1st January 2015, Western Springs

We had a good start to the New Year, but that didn’t carry on for very long unfortunately.
Our first heat we started out grid position 2 but with a vacant position on 1 everyone got moved off, this was a disadvantage for us as grid 2 sets the pace and we really wanted to be running out wide on this track we had. We followed dropped back to second for most of the race but managed to reel in 1st position with a few laps to go, as we came up to the white flag he leader was held up by lap cars and we were able to make a pass underneath to take the lead.

Our second heat we started from grid 13 and moved up a few positions when we rode a wheel going into turn one and collected the wall and rolled. The car broke 4 shocks and bent the front left of the chassis, snapping off the front bumper. Peter was okay and we worked hard to try and prepare the car for our semi-main as we were starting off grid position 4. Unfortunately a broken diff let us down and our night was over. On a positive note we had the fastest lap time of night for the midgets with a 13.598!
