Hunnibell Racing > 23rd December 2014, Tyreplus Midget 40 lap Spectacular

Racing on the Tuesday before Christmas was always going to be a good night. With a total of 18 cars attending we were split into two groups. We were originally in Group Two but due to the numbers we were moved over to Group One which had the likes of Michael Pickens, Brad Mosen and Darren Hagen in our group, to mention a few.
We started our first heat out of grid 9 and managed to move up to finish in 7th. Our second heat race we started out of grid 2 and got off to a good start and took over the lead. With a number of restarts we slipped back to 2nd position where we finished the race.
The format we were running meant we got to start the feature in 10th position with the top 8 qualifiers starting behind us. The track was slick which meant judging when to make a move and driving to preserve tyres. We made a great battle mid-pack for most of the race and were fortunate to have a few yellows which helped us move forward. We lost a few front runners near the end of the race due to losing tyres which meant we were able to move forward to finish in 2nd position.
