Hunnibell Racing > 13th December 2014, Western Springs

The weather wasn’t in our favour for our fifth meeting of the season. We managed to get our two heat races in before the rain came down. Our first heat we started off the rear of the field in grid 11. The track was slippery from the constant drizzle which made for a difficult driving surface which meant a little rubbing of wheels was going to occur. We managed to pass 3 cars in the first corner and continued moving forward throughout the race. We had a yellow and on the restart we managed to get a jump on the car to our inside. With a lap to go we managed to pass another car to finish the race in 3rd position.
Our second heat race we started out of grid position 2 which meant we got to set the pace. We got off to a great start and led the race from start to finish with 2nd position only closing in on us near the end of the race.
With our first and third place finishes we were looking promising for a front row start for the feature but unfortunately the rain set in before they were able to run the fifth midget heat race. We had a great night and were really happy with how the car performed.
